Ooh, thanks! I have been eyeing that series and I think kind of already decided I'd probably read it but it's always better to have a personal rec I can trust.
Like I really need to add to my tbr mountain, but somehow I kinda do
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I was wrong about Livesuit being free for me, btw - I had been listening to a free snippet, then I went and downloaded something else novella-length that was free, and I conflated the two. (The free thing is called Walking to Aldebaran by Adrian Tchaikovsky, the Children of Time + at least one more in that world author. It's entertaining. But not from the "Children of ..." world. Anyway... free!)
Also, I have Leviathan, and I keep starting and stopping it, so maybe I will commit! I hear from everyone how great the Expanse series is.
I devoured the Expanse series.
I'm ready for Miss Percy's Guide. Just put it on my Kindle.
Oh, sorry you didn't get it for free after all, JenP but that does make me feel better. I did decide to spend the $7, btw.
I am semi hooked on Tchaikovsky - I loved Children of Time (there are three) and The Tyrant Philosophers (third one coming out December) but I'm kind of stalled in Shadows of the Apt. I like it but I put down book 8 part way through a while back and haven't picked it up again so clearly I'm not that into it. And it looks like I get Walking to Aldebaran free, also, so I can give that a try. Eta - I also really liked Service Model. Have been considering Alien Clay but haven't committed yet
Ooh, let me know what you think of it, -t. I have not read/listened to Children of Memory yet! That's exciting. I really liked the first two. I was also eyeing Alien Clay, but I think I'll do Children of Memory first. I... fell asleep in the middle of Aldebaran. I liked it enough to go back. Even though I know the ending now, ha!
OK, I am committing to listening to Leviathan Wakes now... about to hit play.
Woohoo, go Expanse!
Just finished Livesuit and it’s good, very thinky. I’m not sure how it fits with Mercy of the Gods - it’s clearly the same universe but either I’m missing connections or they are yet to be revealed. Just taken on its own it’s a good story, though.
I finished Leviathan Wakes! Third (or more) time's the charm. Really liked it and am so looking forward to aaallll the reading to come. I think I may try reading the next one in book form, for lo, I am cheap and libraries are free. Then, maybe by Book 3, I'll have a new credit. I do like the narration.
Yay, success, finally!
Libraries may have audiobooks you can check out. Also, yay!
Finished Walking to Aldebaran and it got a lot more interesting than I was expecting. Did not realize that our boy Gary's name was an allusion until very late in the game, but thought it was pretty dang clever when I caught on.

Oh, wow, how did I not remember that for myself? Apparently, libraries=paper books, even though I know you can get digital content from them. Wow. I defaulted to my original concept of a libray. (At least you all have that same concept, even though you are able to modify yours, ha!)
I... did not pick up on the allusion in Walking to Aldebaran at all until you pointed it out. OK, I think it's good I'm reading again; apparently my brain needs a kickstart. It used to work better, I swear.
Most of the audiobooks I listen to come via Hoopla. They have so many!
