Between Stephen Sondheim and Anne Rice, that's a massive chunk of my formative teen identity gone from this world in the past month.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Yeah, those have been biggies to lose.
Thanks Kate P for reassuring me about a 3rd book.
If the Fates Allow: A Short Story by Rainbow Rowell is quite charming and timely. I've barely read any Rowell, I may need to seek out more.
There's a new Greenwing and Dart book! Plum Duff. Of all the things I enjoy about this series, and I do enjoy it very much both taken as a whole and considering particular aspects of it, one of my favorite things is how every title is a pastry (I was going to say they are all desserts, but stargazy pie is not desserty)
My Mom just texted me to say she's begun the Expanse books, and I let her know it's okay if she doesn't like Jim Holden, almost none of the other characters do either (Roci crew excepted).
I was EXTREMELY satisfied with the conclusion to book 9.
Hooray!

I read Leviathan Wakes and The Butcher of Anderson and am now halfway through Caliban's War. So a bunch considering I just started 5 days ago! They really are quite compelling. It looks like I am going to fly through the series.
I'm also reading Caliban's War (delayed about a day to read the second Murderbot, so I could let someone else have the library e-copy). It's a fast read, but big enough that I don't think I'll finish it before it's due (hooray for the airplane mode trick) even during Less Work Week
I've been using my kindle more and I got some free ebooks. One of them was ok, world building wasn't too bad, and it felt kind of like an AU fanfic.. it's called.. Captured (I think) -- dude is heartbroken hearted because his cheated on him, stole their cat, and married some other dude and took all their friends. He gets wasted on the ex's wedding day and gets kidnapped by aliens. There's an alien prince who is half human and half alien and he ends up kind of rescuing the Dude in Distress and claims Dude as a prize to protect him... and they fall in lurve. But there's like family drama and alien worlds. And I guess it was free to get you interested in the series that follows characters introduced in this book. I don't think I'd buy the other books but this one wasn't too bad.
And then I read another that was also human who was running away from bad aliens is rescued by a hot alien. It was not good. The world building was not good the writing was not good it was just not good. So I deleted that one.
That's one more good thing about e-books - if you don't enjoy them enough to keep, you can delete them ... and you don't have to do anything with the physical book.
