I am getting overwhelmed by reading material again. I took a break from Dickens (Edwin Drood is still looming) to read Asimov's and Ellery Queen, then I took a break from Ellery Queen to read A Comedy of Terrors and my mom coincidentally was first in line at the library for that so we actually could discuss it while it was fresh in both our minds and all the callbacks and mentions of things that happened in the past that I did not remember AT ALL more or less forced me to start listening to the whole Falco series (conveniently included in my Audible membership [previously read in haphazard fashion as I found them in used book stores for at least the first 12 or 13 {surprisingly I read the first couple pretty soon after they were published} although now I suspect I may have missed a few entirely]) which I am now taking a break from to read the latest Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in part because I know the book review columns are good sources for more things to read...and The Madness of Crowds is out but I don't know when I'll get to that; before I get back to Drood, but other than that, who knows?
I am currently reading River of Teeth, by Sarah Gailey. They moderated a talk by another author at my fave local indie and really impressed me, so I bought their book(s) (technically 2 novellas and a couple short stories bound in one book) that were recommended by one of the booksellers. It meets a space on my Summer Reading Bingo (at the same local indie store) so I'm reading it now and can say with authority - I just don't care for Westerns. Even AU Westerns with the addition of hippos.
Yeah, I've been reading all of these books outside of my norms for Summer Reading Bingo purposes, and it's kind of killing me. I haven't even read Jasmine Guillory's new book yet!

I read River of Teeth a while ago (it was on sale ... I have trouble resisting a sale and it sounded interesting). Western with hippos pretty well describes it. I liked it but wasn't driven to read anything else like it.

Yes, I'm fond of my new library tote bag (though I needed another tote bag like a hole in the head) - but theirs was just 10 books - of my choosing! Easy-peasy!

I had Upright Women Wanted and Magic for Liars as "Want to Read" on Goodreads. But the reviews for Upright Women are warning me off because of the Western-ness. I'll have to check the reviews on Magic for Liars. I'm disappointed because I liked Sarah Gailey so much when they moderated that author event, I

wanted to like their books.

Magic for Liars is not at all a Western, I guess it'd be urban fantasy? Upright Women Wanted is maybe a Western somewhat like Firefly is, I suppose. I am bad at categorizing.
