Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I figure I can be upfront with my sometimes trashy reading choices ... but this wasn't trashy and it did seem like something my 'ffistas would enjoy (and, in re autocorrect, to quote a comment I saw, "it's NEVER duck").

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, Toddson, that's the Good Place extension that I still have on my browser (and forgot about) changing bitch to bench. I have gotten too used to it!

So with that extension, it IS "duck"?

Do I want to read Lord Foul's Bane? It's marked down to $2.99 and I recognize the title as Something I've Heard Of but that's about it.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I would not recommend it, personally. It's very Sad White Guy and his Important Problems.

That is kind of what I suspected, thank you for confirming

I'm pretty sure I read most of that series (if it's the one I'm thinking of ... possibly another by the same author). Offhand, I'd say avoid it.

I feel like Jessica might have opinions about it? Or has read it more recently than I? I just remember that the dude starts with leprosy and gets more depressed from there.
