I read 9th house but wasn’t a huge fan. I may need to reread it some time in the future and see if my opinion changes? Maybe if there’s a sequel. I also wasn’t super a fan of Gideon of the Ninth—I liked parts of it but overall it was too weird for me even though it seemed like it ought to be up my alley.

I read the first Murderbot a while back. I liked the character, but I thought the plot was kind of dull, but everyone here seems to like them so much maybe I'll give the next one a try.

I remember really disliking the writing style in The Hot Zone.
Same here. I found it really florid and overwrought. I hadn't heard about The Ninth House before, but upon googling, I'm definitely interested.
