Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I loved Mysterious Letter so so much!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It's pretty great. From what I can tell the author's other works have mostly been m/m romance, but I haven't read those. TAotML might be my favorite Holmes homage, though.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Alexis Hal is definitely mostly m/m romance—modern. But snappy language and chock full of some amazing representation.

Glitterland captured bipolar illness with comedic elegance and a sexy, sexy audio narration (same narrator as AotML.)

And Arden St. Ives gives me life.

AH's newest is coming out this summer. (Bated breath.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You guys Sarah Gailey retweeted me and I am fangirling ALL OVER THE PLACE

Rock star!

ETA I had to search Twitter real quick. I suspected you might've gotten involved in that whole pasta thing but your tweet that was actually retweeted is perfection

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Wow, Jessica!

Climbed out of the fanfic wallow to share that we're getting a new Murderbot novella in April.

  • goes back to fic, knowing better than to poke the author but devoutly wishing they had kept up the series, as there can never be enough Goblin Emperor stories in the world and their take on Csethiro's sisters is glee inducing*

I do love a lot of Goblin Emperor fic, Amy yes!!!

I like nearly everything bigsunglasses has written, and bomberqueen17's Continuing Education series includes the tag "the fantasy of a world where everybody has good intentions".

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Book fanfic is hit or miss for me for books I've already read, but almost everything I've read for The Goblin Emperor is amazing. Actually, Murderbot fanfic is how I ended up knowing I would like the Murderbot series.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

For TGE, I'm really enjoying The ArchDuke and the Glorious Dragon, in which Maia was stolen away by his aunt Shalean (the pirate) after his mother died. It's quite charming, although the writer is dropping very small chapters once a week, which is not meeting my needs.
