You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I just signed up for a Virtual Literary Festival (MYVLF) [link] - They're doing a book weekend in May with discussion panels; Neil Gaiman is going to talk about Ray Bradbury. Eeeeee!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Caught up on Murderbot Diaries and oh my I really enjoy that so much. Going to listen to them all one after the other while I do yard work.

Meanwhile I *thought* I would read a novella real quick but it turns out The Priory of the Orange Tree is 800 pages long so I don't know where I got the idea it was short. It's got a fictional religion and dragons and a plague, though, so it's working for me. I'll just have to switch between the universes as needed.

I read Murderbot the other day. So good. I will have to go back and reread the whole series soon.

Right now I'm in comfort-reading mode, and I'm rereading all of Diane Duane's Rihannsu novels.

The new murderbot is next on my list! I'm so excited.

Yeah, "Priory" is ... not a light read.

I loved Rihannsu as a young teenager, I should go back to them again!

Herding cats for fun

I quite liked Priory of the Orange Tree. I knew I could finish it but waited for paperback due to weight. I'd recommend it for having strong female characters and presenting two tender, unexpected gay love stories.

E-book, which is why I apparently had no idea how long it was when I started it. I just finished Part I, so a lot still to go and I still have very little idea what is actually going on - I mean, I'm following the plot, I think, but there are a lot of secrets and mysteries

I also just read and loved the latest murderbot! I liked Priory, but I didn't love it for some reason.

Currently reading The 10,000 doors of January, which is really good and I recommend.
