Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Wait, so a big chunk of the board of directors quit, and the president-elect that apparently turned the ethics complaint into a kangaroo court immediately becomes president AND gets to name replacement board members?

That was my take away, too. WTF?!?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

This is a day-by-day compilation of links:

Because books.

Nomad Velour is just everything.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

. . . and now they're trying to invalidate the recall petition on procedural grounds? I'm going to have to go to Costco tomorrow, there's not enough popcorn on this island.

In the course of cleaning up computer files, my friend Sara found that she had e-books of Nomad Velour's firefighter porn. (In her defense she bought them 10 years ago and it wasn't for the deathless prose, but even by those standards - wow.)

How does it keep getting worse?!?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

At this point I'm waiting for him to peel off a mask and reveal it was Kevin Spacey the whole time.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I feel like you would have to actively try to handle things this badly.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ha, Matt!

I don't really know anything about Mr Velour other than the stuff I have read the last few days and I'm trying to keep an open mind because I am really only reading one side of the story (it's a very persuasive side, but I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing) but I did read the interview where Chuck Tingle comes up and the rest of that interview pretty much makes him seem like a prick so....yeah
