Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We went to the Merrimack Valley Halloween book festival today with vw. It was wonderful. vw and I went to a couple panels and I bought a ton of books and found even more authors to look into. Then we went to lunch, vw and family went home, and I waited around for Joe Hill to sign my books. His panel was booked up, but some people didn't show up, so they let me in. I don't know how these things work hippocampus, but I would love it if you were there next year.

Ah SJ that would be so much fun! If invited, I almost always say yes unless I have a prior.

It was lots of fun. I wish there were more opportunities around here to go to things like that. I didn't see any New England events on your events page. Are you coming this way anytime soon?

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I just finished The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, and had to recommend it to the Buffistas immediately. It's 18th-century historical fiction, queer romance, and YA fantasy-tinged adventure all rolled up into one extremely satisfying story. I loved it and I feel certain that many of you would love it too!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I think Cashmere recommended it to me. So fun to read.
