Giveaway on Goodreads, including a link to request a review copy from NetGalley - I'm not sure whether I'll qualify as a "reader of influence", but I'd bet folding money that you do.
Holy cow: The Broken Earth books might be a tv series!

I saw that, Consuela, but wondered how? It's such a very complex and different world.
Yeah, I can't imagine how they can pull that off but if they can I will be thrilled to watch it!
I found
River of Teeth
by Sarah Gailey on the new book shelf today. It's a short AU about a 19th century America in which Congress actually did decide to populate Louisiana with free-range hippos.
Oh! Amazon has been recommending that to me but I thought it was something entirely different. Intriguing.
I'm so so excited about Nora's series!!!
Also when it is posted, Ursula Vernon'/ Hugo acceptance speech is the funniest best thing.
I keep hearing about the legendary Whalefail speech, but I have seen no links to it yet!
Driving back from the eclipse, Lee and I listened to an episode of Pop Culture Happy Hour that recommended The Twenty Percent True Podcast so we listened to all 12 episodes of Season 1: Modern Monsters. Essentially short stories with a fantastic element read by the author. Very enjoyable, highly recommend! We especially liked Episode 6: The Roommate
OMG I have become obsessed with the Toby Daye books. InCryptid got me hooked, and Indexing I also love (especially Sloane - I really want more so there's some follow-up on what happened at the end of the second - book? - set of chapters?
However I've grown to Toby (and her crew) just amazes me. I think Tatiana Mislany would be the perfect choice to play her in a movie/series (Anna Torv who I miss would be a second) and really regret there isn't a young Alan Rickman who could play Tybalt.
