I'm working at the library bookstore for the first time since ltc was born. The actual store, rather than shelving when it is closed, which I've done several times. I've been here a half hour and already found 3 book and convinced a nice couple to buy The Underground Railroad.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I just finished His Majesty's Dragon. It was tremendously fun. I went and bought the sequel the moment I finished the first one.
So, the Skulduggery Pleasant series ended after book 9 a couple of years ago. But wait! There's a new book coming out June 1 in the UK! SO EXCITE!
Man, I still have to read those! I have the first one on my Kindle, but I always forget that I have books on there.
OMG TEP!!!!
!!!!
Amy, they are so good.
Report: Carousel Court by Joe McGinnis Jr. was fantastic, in the spectacular train wreck way of Gone Girl (it also shares a lot of similarities with Gone Girl, which is both good and bad, I think). Could not stop reading it once I passed a certain point, and he evokes this almost apocalyptic, hellish setting brilliantly. Phoebe and Nick (see? another Nick) are not the same as Amy and Nick, but their dynamic is very similar. I loved it, although I have some feelings to resolve about gender politics/representation.
Also, and I can't remember if I linked this already, does everyone have this: [link] ? It's a library extension for Amazon that tells you how many copies of a title are available in your local system, and allows you place a hold on it. I love this thing like cake.
Ooh, that sounds exceedingly useful!
ETA: extension installed, and I will be using the hell out of this! Thank you, Amy!
Ohhhh, thanks Amy!
I'm not quite halfway through The Hate U Give. Wow, it is good.
