Laura - I find that pagination with e-books is extremely inexplicable. Whether they use page numbers or "location" numbers (as with Kindle).
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
The page numbers differ on the same ebook depending on whether I'm reading it on my phone or my computer. That's probably because of the difference in screen size, which affects the amount of text can fit on a given page.
I never had the page count be different than it said on the description. They said it was a "content issue" but I don't know what that means. Oddness.
Normally it takes 3-5 page swipes to turn page number, and that was the same as usual. I'm going to bring it up on the computer and see if it is different.
Ughh Laura - I don't know about the Nook at all but that's upsetting & I'll let people know. I have a couple copies left, if you want to hit me at my profile addy I can send.
So, I can't remember who offered me a copy of Handmaid's Tale (Kat?), but I resigned myself to purchasing it, and figured that an ebook would be cheaper. Went to Amazon, and lo and behold, it was free with my Prime subscription. It's all tied up in the Kindle app, but it's perfect for a re-read.
Wanted to say thanks for the offer, and share this windfall (that everyone else probably already knew about).
Is that the lending thing, where you get it for a week?
Oh, I don't know. I presumed I had it until I got rid of the app, but I guess I better check :)
I am seriously enjoying the expanse series. I'm in the middle of the second book which introduced some really interesting characters.
Yay! I don't know that I have anything else to say about it, but I'm very enthusiastic about those books.
