oooh! the best of company!
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Huh. Our library already has the ebook in the catalog, but not the paperback. (I do actually put reminders on my calendar in advance of books' release dates, so I check the library for them.)
It struck me that this may be a book some of the Buffistas have been waiting for.
Oh, good! I'm always about half ready to drop InCryptid (I generally like the cryptids, but the Prices often rub me the wrong way) but Antimony is intriguing.
Haven't read most of her other stuff (except the Toby Daye books, which I love unreservedly, and Indexing which I am also ambivalent about, but I kind of enjoy analyzing my ambivalence about that series) partially because there is just so damn much of it, it's overwhelming.
Ooh, I haven't seen the Valentine vs. stuff.
I want to read "Evey Heart a Doorway", but $10 for 178 pages? Really?
Psst, it's Velveteen vs. There are three volumes out from Isfic press. I don't know if they're all available still.
I like the InCryptid a lot. Wasn't as big a fan of the brother but loooooved the "so you think you can dance" takeoff in the last book.
I didn't like Every Heart as much as expected. Saw some reviews later that articulated issues I couldn't but now don't remember where. Did read a good Yuletide fic or two in that universe
REALLY looking forward to hearing Antimony's POV. Also love Indexing and thinking I should look into Velveteen vs., except I'm still a couple books behind on Toby Daye and...seriously, how does she do it?
(Also read Sparrow Hill Road - Liked, not Loved - and still have Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day to get to on my Kindle. Not to mention Mira Grant stuff. She's an android or something, isn't she?)
REALLY looking forward to hearing Antimony's POV.
Me, too! Although what I desperately want is books from Alice's POV.
