Laura, I have to say, it's worth watching Game of Thrones from season 1. The show follows the book pretty well in the first couple of seasons but starts to differentiate itself in some major ways (often improvements, in my opinion) after that. If you jump straight in on season 6 you'll be pretty confused. At the least, you should read a plot summary of seasons 1-2 and start with season 3.
Plus, the first three seasons are just spectacular television (assuming you aren't squicked by the ultraviolence and random sexposition, of course).
Yeah. I'm about 20% into the first book. And just sort of.... meh.
I would say, if you get past the wedding and are still bored, give up.
(I mean, obviously you should feel free to put it down and read something else any time you want, but IMO the wedding is the tipping point past which you're either going to be hooked or not. Everything before that is basically prologue and exposition.)
I'd agree with Jess, probably if you aren't enjoying by the time of the wedding, it's not for you.
I dropped it. I'm reading
Swing Time
and loving it.
Huh--I feel like the past few weeks I've bought several Kindle books at full price (!!!) and was contemplating buying one more (the third in a trilogy, just re-read the other two), and thought "Let me see how much I spent on books last year"
Last year I spent just over $100 on Kindle.
...this MONTH I have spent $25 so far on Kindle.
Well that would explain why I feel like I've spent so much!
Have I mentioned here that the perfect person to play Miles Vorkosigan lives in my neighborhood? I mean, he's probably not an actor, but he totally has the right proportions and coloring. I can't decide if I hope this person has read the books or not!
I stopped by the library bookstore tonight and convinced someone to buy the copy of the Night Circus that has been sitting on the shelf way too long!
We broke Goodreads! It said it was over capacity when I tried to go in earlier to update.
I just signed upfor Goodreads, don't break it now!
Has anyone read Woman on the Edge of Time? I'm about halfway through and it's fascinating.
