Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, that's great! Congratulations, Sox! I'm so pleased that a book I like so much is getting recognition.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, I hope my massage therapist follows any of this kind of news, because I know she was a little skeptical when I told her to read the book my friend wrote, even though I was all, "It's really good! It's winning awards!!!"

Our wings are not tired.

I hope it wasn't weird that I posted in Beep Me! I am so behind in all of the threads except this one, so I knew all y'all who were in here knew about it, but I wanted the lurkers and everyone else to know, too!

Our wings are not tired.

Although I subscribe here and enjoyed reading all the congratulatory wishes it gave me another thrill to see the notice in Beep Me. So, thanks!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Congrats again Sox! See you at Balticon!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Summer is when I mainline reading that I've been unable to get to all year long. I was about to start Six of Crows, but realized it comes after the Grisha series. Should I read that first?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

You don't have to, Burrell. But they are good too.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I spend a chunk of last weekend catching up on the last two years (!) of this thread. You all talked me into buying some books and now all I want to do is read. I just finished Station Eleven, which was kinda perfect for a theatre geek who likes post-apoc stories. I'd really like to not go to work tomorrow and just start on the next one.

Thanks Kat, I tried to swap out the book at the library but the first Grisha book was checked out, so I figured I'd just start with the one I have. But meanwhile I read another book called The Whatnot since I'd already read the companion book The Peculiar and I knew it would be a fast read.
