Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

'Life of the Party'

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, those are beautiful images.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Those are the great! The second one is really cool.

not your mom's socks.

They are so wonderful. I met Mike M. at Dragoncon and got to talk to him about his process - it was fantastic. Serena I've chatted with online. They did beautiful things!

I wish I were a better review writer! I did post reviews of Updraft on Barnes & Noble where I got my Nook version, and a couple other places, but it didn't adequately express my delight.

I saw yours! It was great -- and you're a great reviewer! Thank you so much for that.

I feel like I should share here: I left my kindle on the plane last night! I didn't realize it until today! WOE IS ME. I mean, yah, I have an iPad and plenty of books on that, but...it's not the SAME. And the kindle is so much smaller and easier to carry around. UGH.

OH NOES!

If someone turns it on can they find your name or something? I want to hope you'll get it back somehow.

I'm going to apologize to Sox and all other board writers right now for not posting reviews anywhere ever. I hate reviewing anything, especially at Amazon.

move out and draw fire

I'm in the opposite boat. I just read a book that was so bad I feel obligated to warn people away from it, but I don't want to post a scathing review in a public place because it was SO BAD.

Thus: For the love of all that's holy, don't read The Sleeping King by Cindy Dees.

It's a fantasy novel? But it's really her account of the LARP she's been playing in for the past decade.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh no, meara! As deeply as I love the look and smell and feel of books, I have become addicted to my Nook. Particularly with my habit of reading several things at once. And changing the font, and backlighting, and oh I do so love technology.

Yes, I haven't "lost" any actual books in losing the kindle. And I can still read on my iPad. But it's a full size iPad, which is better for Internet and games, but makes it unwieldy for reading--and not as easy to carry around. Apparently on Alaska if you lose something they mail it to you, you can't pick it up. So it may be a few weeks even if someone turned it in.
