But the line "The CW will be set through 2019" is gold.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I don't know, I liked the dystopian reinterpretations of Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland well enough, why not Little Women?
Dystopean Alice in Wonderland . . . which one was that?
Dystopean Alice in Wonderland . . . which one was that?
Through the Looking Glass?
t still traumatized by the Red Queen
I want to say it was called Alice? On Syfy? It wasn't great, but nothing wrong with the concept.
With the White Rabbit detective agency? And the Mad Hatter as petty criminal turned Alice ally? Generally all steampunky? Can't remember the name eithrr. "White Rabbit"? Probably not.
Also there was "Tin Man" a dysopian Wizard of Oz.
"Dietland" is really good. Also, hard to describe. But not really one of those "Fat lady learns to love herself after rebelling and eating a damn muffin" books. Which I sometimes like, but I don't think we need another one. it's more like "White Teeth" but feminist. I think Buffistas will approve.
Okay, I was at the library a few weeks ago and found and started reading a book set in a China-esque land. Then I discovered that I owed TOO MUCH in library fines to take said book out.
Did I write down the title for future reference?
Of course not, that would be entirely too organized for the sort of person who gets library fines that she cannot afford to pay.
It was in the new books section - author's name near the beginning of the alphabet and quite a hefty tome. Any ideas?
Was it The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu? I'm on my phone so I can't post a link.
Possibly - but even if it isn't that looks really interesting.
