Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I accidentally vaguely spoiled myself for that right at the start, and it was interesting to identify the lead-up, but I did not predict the circumstances of how it would go down. How awful.
Her Dad won't be pleased.
I've started The Night Circus and I'm already into it. Even though it's the damn title of the book, I still had a WTF reaction to the fact that it's, well, a night circus. IT'S ONLY OPEN AT NIGHT.
This opening stuff with Prospero is giving me a Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell vibe.
Jim Dale is great because Alexander sounds like Dumbledore and Prospero sounds kind of like Hagrid.
I like that I have no fucking idea what this book is actually about.
Check it: Just for the Weekend - a romance where the couple meets at a Star Trek convention.
I haven't read it - but I'm going to.
That's awesome!
So very cool, Scola!
Very cool.
