I liked On the Road, but it did not fill me with desire to read more Kerouac.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Oh, I've heard of that one, Gris. Gets mentioned in zombie fic conversations all the time.
That's cool to know. I used to teach with the author. Nice guy.
Went to the library and it seemed to be closed but the doors were open so I grabbed two audiobooks like a ninja: The Giver read by Ron Rifkin (aka SLOANE) and The Night Circus read by Jim Dale.
Did you read Night Circus already, PC?
Nope.
Ooooh, I look forward to seeing whether P-C thinks it's a great book or the greatest book.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Dale narration though.
A book (for younger readers) about the worst pet EVER.

I'm really looking forward to it after all the comments here!

I loved his Harry Potter and Pushing Daisies narration, so.
I just started The Giver and I can't believe I never read this when I was a kid. I don't think I did? I feel like it was in my house so maybe I did and I just have no memory of it.
I didn't read The Giver when I was a kid because I was 21 when it was published, but IIRC that is not your reason.
