A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My copy of My Life in Middlemarch came in today! I'm really hoping it's a good book.

Because books.

That looks interesting, sj.

I'm reading both The Raven Boys and Rose Under Fire -- when The Raven Boys drags a little bit (it's way slower paced than The Scorpio Races) I pick up Rose Under Fire, but I think when I'm done with it, I have to lay off WWII for a while. I'm already kind of dreading what's going to happen to Rose. My one hope is that Maddie and Jamie have a happy ending -- if they don't, don't tell me.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Amy, I'm in the middle of Rose Under Fire right now too, and your hope is mine. I don't think I could bear it if that doesn't happen.

Art Crawl!!!

Hmm, would really like to read Rose Under Fire.

Does anyone have a kindle copy that they could lend me?

Amy - Feb 14, 2014 8:02:28 am PST #22060 of 28352
Because books.

I had to put it down last night, Kate, and go back to The Raven Boys, because I was in tears and I just couldn't hack it. I do love Rose, though.

sumi, I had Code Name Verity on Kindle, but I lent it to my mom and I think you can only lend it once, and I have a hard copy of Rose Under Fire.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I thought Consuela, particularly, would enjoy the essay at the bottom of this page.

Thanks for the heads-up, Beverly, I'll take a look.

I'm on vacation in Colorado, so mostly online, but I sadly came across some of the discussion about what's going on in SF writerdom right now. What a clusterfuck. Especially when I see writers I really like saying things that make me sad.

Pretty cool! I love it that Janelle Monae got honored.
