Throwing another rec out there. I'm in the middle of The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker, and I'm loving it so much!
It's the story of a female golem and a male Jinni who wind up in New York in 1899.
I'm having a really hard time putting it down.
FWIW, Kate Ross was a big Dorothy Dunnett fan...
Rayne, that book has shown up on a lot of best-of lists, and it sounds great! It's on my to-read list.
Maybe I'll look at them -- I loved the Kate Ross books so much.
Um... I guess it's good that Flynn is doing it with him, but it seems like they're about to change a big piece of what made the story so memorable.
I'm really not sure I even want to see that movie anymore.
Yeah, I thought the ending was perfect. Movies can end in uncomfortable ways too people!
Holy crap. The entire Oz collection is on sale at Amazon (Kindle) for only $.99!

ETA: Whoa, and the Anne of Green Gables books, the Peter Pan books, and a collection of 16 classic horror stories (including Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow). Sweet sale!
Some of that might be public domain. I know the Anne books are, and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
No bonus features or illustrations, though.
Amy, I read about the rewrite in EW. I was wondering if it was metaphorical, relating to something else or if it was a
reset entirely.
I'm not sure.
