Orson Scott Card announces new ‘Ender’s Game’ books
I read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead, way back when, I don't think I'll read any others.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Those are the best ones anyway, though I also like Ender's Shadow.
So I read Fangirl and Eleanor and Park this weekend, since Meara let us know that they were on sale on Amazon. I'm trying to stop buying so many books for my kindle, but it's hard to beat $1.50 each...
They were frankly adorable. E&P nearly made me cry, and I loved Fangirl, even though I find it hard to believe that a 21-year-old cowboy from Nebraska, even one in college, would be that into slash. Or even willing to listen to it without being into it.
That said, it was warm and supportive of fandom while pointing out gently that failure to prioritize can be unhealthy (and unsustainable). Which is not wrong.
I really liked all the characters, too--except for the plagiarist, but then I wasn't supposed to like him.
The Bean books were so godawful I have no interest in anything more in that universe. Not even a twinge of "Oh, if only OSC weren't such a toxic waste pit of a human being" type regret over not finishing that series.
Yeah, by the time I slogged through the last one of those, I was so over the whole thing. He did put out another book, Ender in Exile, a few years ago, but whatever.
I threw Ender's Shadow across the room when I finished it, and never look backed. I'd've lit it on fire if I'd had a grill at the time.
I really enjoyed Ender's Shadow - what about it inspires bookburning in the rest of you? (Not being smartass - genuinely interested).
You know, I really like passionate responses to things we read. The mental image of Polgara grilling a book will sustain me for the rest of the day.
This image brings me life!
Certain Kindles are 15% off today only. As far as I can tell, regular Kindles and Fires, yes. Paperwhites, no.

Me too, except I didn't finish it*. Petra's transformation from an actual character with her own thoughts and feelings into Bean's fucking baby-factory? FEH FEH FEH FEH FEH PTUI FEH.
*A rare moment where self-control triumphed over completism. I was not so lucky with the Dune prequels.
