You know, with the exception of one deadly and unpredictable midget, this girl is the smallest cargo I've ever had to transport. Yet by far the most troublesome. Does that seem right to you?

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Hey. New board.

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed the twee. But I also liked Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (my only exposure to David Levithan solo).

ETA: I also read Boy Meets Boy! I remember now. But I really only remember the cover. Probably not a resounding endorsement.

I really liked The Fault in Our Stars, but I'm finding Looking for Alaska tougher going. I guess I knew that going in once I saw all the quotes comparing it to Catcher in the Rye, though. Whatever, Holden Caulfield.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I liked Paper Towns much better than Looking for Alaska.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yoon Ha Lee has been writing short stories to prompts from friends the last week. This one is my favorite so far.

The court of the dogs met in a pack, in a circle in woods at the edge of the world where the night falls off into distances of infinite wild smells: pine, and water ever-running, and that sharp unshadowy tang of borders unbraided. There were huskies pale-eyed, and tall stern poodles, and German shepherds, and other dogs besides, including a beagle with his tricolor coat.

Oh that is neat, Consuela!

I finally read Rose under Fire. So good! So painful, but so good. I wanted more! Dang. She should write faster.

not your mom's socks.

Consuela, have you read her book of short stories from Prime? So good.

I have it, Sox, but I've not read it yet. I'm bad with short-story collections, frankly. I love novels best, and short story collections sometimes frustrate me because I'm just getting to know the characters and now the story's over and I have to move on.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I believe Mira Grant's "Parasite" is out ... have to get to the bookstore!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

It is out! Dropped into my nook yesterday. I have so much reading to do and never enough time :) Good problems

She's at my bookstore tomorrow!
