I liked that the author portrayed the downside in each set of personalities.
Me, too, because when I started Divergent, I was all, Go Team Erudite! Until they turned out to be so uncool. And then I thought, aww, Amity seems so niiiiiiice. And then we found out why.
Personality wise, I am probably Abnegation, Amity, Erudite mix. Candor and Dauntless are much too much for me. I probably would have ended up Factionless before too long though. Eating out of cans.
It occurs to me, given what we know at the end of the 2nd book, that
Abnegation probably gave food to the Factionless not only because it was their social duty to do so, but because they were strategically setting things up for the next stage.
Do we know if
Caleb is Divergent? Was Beatrice's father
?
I probably would have ended up Factionless before too long though. Eating out of cans.
Me, too. Though I lean strongly towards Erudite, with a wide streak of Amity. Dauntless is CRAZY.
I don't think we know if
Caleb is Divergent,
and for some reason I don't think
Tris's father was,
although I don't think it was explicitly stated.
Abnegation would just be too much of a pain to spell on a regular basis.
yeah, I am sure the have a short hand, but I'm scared to guess what it might be.
Hey - question for writerly types. DH is trying to get his publisher to change the title of his book slightly, but they've already put it in their catalog for librarians/bookstores to order, and it has a pre-order page on Amazon. How set in stone is a title once that's all in play?
Pretty set, unfortunately. It would also depend on the cover -- if anything's been printed, he's probably out of luck. That includes the sales catalog for that season, too.
Nothing's been printed, the graphics dept just came up with a first draft cover yesterday. The book doesn't come out until next February!
