The place on Tumblr where I found that said Reese Witherspoon is a frontrunner, which I can actually see a little better.
I know Nick was supposed to be good-looking, but in my head he was dirty blonde and a lot leaner than Ben Affleck.
Which I know is the least important thing about getting the character right, but still.
Amy, I definitely see your points, especially the blonde part. I like Reese Witherspoon, but she seems all wrong to me. I can't see her
getting to the dark place the character eventually goes to.
I don't know, after
Election,
I can see it!
That was a long time ago. I haven't seen her do anything like that recently. It's possible I'm just still bitter about Water for Elephants.
Yeah. Although honestly, the book didn't impress me as much as I wanted it to, either.
Which book? I loved both books.
The lead actress has to be very very good and believable in
playing different personality types.
If she can't do that, and I'm not certain Reese Witherspoon can, then the movie is going to SUCK.
Amy Acker is someone who has the skills for this, but I'm not sure she is physically what I imagined. Rosario Dawson did a pretty good job in "Trance", so she might be able to pull something like this off (if they really wanted to go against type). I think Lucy Liu would also be really a really interesting choice and could pull it off.
I read that Reese was a producer, but that she wasn't going to play the lead.
Incidentally, I just started DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON and am enjoying the hell out of it so far. It's my current train book for my new, extended commute.
