Alaska is my least favorite of the 3 John Green books I've read (not to say that it isn't good, just that I liked Paper Towns and Will Grayson better). It's not what one would call a very happy book. More "cathartic", perhaps. I have plans to pick up all the Skullduggery books when I'm in the UK, since there are some that aren't out yet in the US, so I think it's more an issue of "which are you in the mood for?"
'Sleeper'
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Five hundred votes for The Book Thief.
I bought the Duane ebook bundle last year, too. I think there was one sort of fundraiser? Anyway, I haven't started them, partially because Mount Toberead is reaching Everest proportions and partially because I'm not sure about the order. Does anyone have a link to a series chronology, please?
SKULDUGGGERY!
But I am intending to read The Book Thief one of these days.
I like them all. Looking for Alaska is not the best John Green, but it was my first and I liked it. The Book Thief is brilliant. Skulduggery is pure fun. So... any of them?
You people are no help. Or possibly too much help.
I think I'm going to finish Montmaray and then start The Book Thief.
We'll see, anyway.
Well, if you are interested, Duane is re-releasing an edited and updated set of the novels, which take into account advances in technology in the time since she started writing the series.
This is definitely of interest. I'll definitely have to look into them. Especially as ebooks, given the piles of literature currently threatening to bury me in the next big quake.
Mount Toberead
One day, I hope to summit it.
Even just the analog version. I can kinda hide the digital, the actual books taunt me.
I have been working on Mount Toberead and Mount Tobeshelved for the last several days, because the avalanches have been getting in the way of walking around.
