But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I only have heard the audio book of Cry to Heaven but it was read by Tim Curry and just hearing him say "Tonio" turned my bones to butter.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Was there a consensus on A Discovery of Witches? My mom has a copy I can borrow, but I seem to remember some readers here didn't like it.

Amy, I liked it quite a bit. More than I thought I would.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Skulduggery Pleasant readers who've gotten through book 5 (Mortal Coil), here's a short-short story Derek Landy wrote that takes place after Mortal Coil. It is EXTREMELY SPOILERY for Mortal Coil, so keep that in mind. [link]

I'm both horrified and enthralled by the combination of Billy-Ray Sanguine (who I admit I utterly adore) and Remnant!Tanith. Although I'm still not really okay with Tanith having a Remnant inside her.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have to wait 2 or 3 weeks to read Dark Days and the rest. Pout. Better than a year, but still, waiting is a drag.

Mark my post and come back. It's a pretty good micro-story, and gives me the willies for reasons you will understand when you get there.

Has anyone read Veronica Roth's Divergent?

Amy - Jan 28, 2012 6:27:54 pm PST #17698 of 28332
Because books.

It's on my list, but I haven't yet. I can also probably get a copy, though -- if you're not dying to read it, I can ask my editor to send it to me, and then send it on to you.

I put it on hold at the library, and I have other stuff to read, so there's no rush. Basically, if you had it, that would be cool, but it'll probably come up at the library within a week or 2. Thanks!

On the Skulduggery Pleasant front, I'm reading the author's blog, and I just got to an entry where he's talking about Skulduggery fanfic he's read, and giving short little reviews of some of them. So apparently he's pro-fanfic. He's very pro-fan, that's for sure.

Has anyone read Veronica Roth's Divergent?

Yes, I enjoyed it, though the last bit that was very "and now there will be a sequel!" annoyed me. And it's much like the many dystopia-novels, where the whole thing is a little weird and fake, but still, entertaining.
