By the way, I'm looking into starting a discussion group on Goodreads for the people that want to read along for all or part of the challenge. I was going to use Facebook, but then I realized Goodreads makes far more sense since you can have threaded discussions, link to books, polls, etc.
First up is the Woolf, but I'm not getting it from the library until this weekend.
I should have made an argument for Dorothy Sayers; Lord Peter and Harriet Vane would have been a rest in the midst of these.
Oh, I read 60 books last year. These won't be all I read for sure, but I wanted to be responsible to someone else for some of the more difficult ones. My secret goal is of course to read all 25.
But I know myself and I'll get distracted from the project and read other stuff. And I'll still have my book salon books since these don't necessarily coordinate in any way.
It's about tequila, right?
It's been a while since I've read it but...sure!
I'd be interested in a Goodreads group for at least some of them, megan.
I'll add you to the list!
It will be a private group as I would have done on Facebook. I think because you can have different threads it will be easier for people who just want to read 1 or 2.
I need to sign up for Goodreads, but I feel like it will take me forever to catalog ALL THE BOOKS I OWN AND EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER READ.
Are you on shelfari or librarything? Because you can import stuff into Goodreads.
I'm not expecting to ever get that done, P-C. I doubt anyone is, except members who sign up at thirteen.
Weird that To the Lighthouse isn't available on Gutenberg. Only Night and Day, The Voyage Out, Jacob's Room, and Monday or Tuesday are. But wouldn't they all be in the public domain, rather than just some of them?
Not if they'd renewed the copyright.
edit: And the Australian Gutenberg site has different rules about copyright, so different books are available--not that I'd ever suggest ways that people could circumvent the laws of our fair nation.
