I think what my daughter's trying to say is: nyah nyah nyah nyah.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Not to rain on the parade, but could we take the conversation about stealing the stuff I sell for a living offline? This is what backchannel's for, folks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It doesn't bother you when people talk about watching Doctor Who ahead of time?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Book-related: After spending 18 hours on planes this week, I was thinking about a Kindle or whatever, but what do you do during the no-electronics time?? I would need to bring a back-up book! Or magazine, I guess, but still.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Back up magazine, for me.

I always stare out the windows like a newbie, restraining myself from going "Look at the neat cloud, they're so puffy from this side! Wow, there's a mountain sticking up through the clouds! Huh, cities look so different from up here."

No electronics time isn't all that long, is it? I just flew, and I don't remember it being obstructive.

Oh, flying from PDX, I play the "ooooh, mountains" game too.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Especially at the end of the flight, I need to be engaged in something from the descent until the people ahead of me start getting off the plane, or I lose my damn mind.

Deserts are so cool from planes, looking at the outcroppings of rock and tracking how the water flows.

I may be a topography/geography nut.
