the first edition of the first book is just named Skulduggery Pleasant, without The Scepter of the Ancients tacked on

This is the edition that the library has. I had to consciously parse "oh, they must have pulled a Raiders" when I came across the New Improved Title.

It's really kind of shocking what jackasses they're proving to be. The original mistake was bad enough, but they have completely mishandled it. Poor Lauren Myracle.

Supposedly they don't write anything down in order to keep the info from leaking, but really -- nobody mentioned the authors' names? Nobody doublechecked to make sure they had the right titles?
