Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What have I been reading? Zoo City, One Salt Sea, Heartless, and This Isn't What It Looks Like. More people should read the Secret Series! It's so much fun!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Whoa. The National Book Award finalists were just announced this morning, and in the category of Young People's Literature, they announced Lauren Myracle's Shine among the finalists. And now it turns out that there was a mixup and it should have been Franny Billingsley's Chime instead. (Confirmed by a source at the NBA -- they'll be making an announcement shortly.) So they're keeping both books on the list, rather than kicking off Lauren Myracle. Yikes.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Wow, Kate -- that's...embarrassing. Dang.

Because books.

I just bought the EW issue yesterday! I was told they were running the ad, but I hadn't see it yet. I'm very psyched my spine is right there in the middle, too. ::preens a little::

Jilli, that's so cool. Can I say that tonight?!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

in less optimistic news, they're doing a new version of Twilight ... with wafty drawings of Bella and Edward. Yes ... just what the world needed (facepalm).
