Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, interesting. And Miller and Stentz have good television pedigree (Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe).

Cool. I knew somebody would snap it up and I hoped it would be a series instead of a movie. I was reading the sequel in the bookstore and it's very engaging.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Has anyone finished the sequel? I'm afraid to start it. I had some problems with the latter half of the first book and I want to know how the narrative structure of the 2nd is.

I haven't finished it. I do know that the reviews I've read indicate that this book is much more accomplished and assured structurally than the first one.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Does anyone have a Nook, and want to do the Lend Me thing? I'm especially curious if The Night Circus is on LendMe; I want to read it, but we're having to be super, super careful with money.

My Nook LendMe addy is erinLASTNAME AT hotmail DOT com.

(if you can't remember my last name, e-me at my profile addy -- I'm happy to lend whatever LendMe books I have on my Nook)

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I don't need my eyes covered. That's the irksome but emotionally irrelevant twin. Now if that superhero novel by the other one gets optioned and names I love and can't resist become attached to it, please just stuff me in a box until the thing is out, closed, and shoved in the back of the DVD clearance racks.

Hey, Liese! Glad to know lending works! NEAT! (I was all, "I sent a book? What book?" Then it clicked....it's been a long week).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is this the first Skulduggery Pleasant book?
