No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am obviously meh, but it is just sitting there waiting for me to take it home for free, so why not?

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

What the hell? I watch all kinds of movies on cable cause I already paid for them.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Read it for free, Jesse. It was okay...though I was irritated by it at points.

Also, EVERYONE should read Rules of Civility by Amor Towles. I'd love to teach this book.

I got it signed by him (well, a galley) at BEA, and he was so charming, so completely what you'd expect for the author of that book. I've only skimmed so far, because I was too busy to read it at the time, but what I read I loved. My mom has it now. And the cover is spectacular.

It's a wonderful book. I love the narrator. I also love how this is sort of a Great Gatsby, a decade later. Nice to read a Great Depression book that isn't.

I cannot believe he's an investment banker!

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Anyone want a bunch of coverless Piers Anthony paperbacks? We're clearing out my old room at my folks' house.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset
