Hey, don't go to the initial Borders' liquidation sales. Prices are actually higher than they were right now. [link]
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Liese, I am so not surprised by that.
I heart Dumbledore's Army.
It's only worth it to go to the Border's sale right now if you want magazines, which never go on sale and are currently 40% off or if you have a gift card, which they're only accepting until the end of the month.
Thank you, sj. I just checked and realized that I have a $10 Borders card that I should use while there is ... still a Borders.
Oh my Gooooood, Umbridge is the WORST. I forgot about the Quidditch ban. What the fucking fuck.
Jim Dale's Luna voice sounds so WRONG. Much like his Moaning Myrtle voice, although that one at least seems to gel with the way she's described in the book. But Evanna Lynch nailed Luna so perfectly that it's weird hearing Dale's very different take.
A quote for the day: "Come on, we have a library to open before we can overthrow the government."
Jim Dale's Luna voice sounds so WRONG.
So true. It's really my only gripe with Jim Dale's performance. But then again, I like Evanna Lynch's Luna better than the book Luna too.
On the plus side, Jim Dale's Prof. Sprout is way funnier which is why Emmett and I pronounce "Bubo Tubers" the way we do.
It's really my only gripe with Jim Dale's performance.
I think he took "spacey" and "dreamy" to mean "sounds like Trelawney."
Hagrid just his first appearance in this book, though, which reminded me how perfect his Hagrid is.
He does do a good Umbridge. I loved the moment in the Hog's Head when Hermione is pitching the secret DADA lessons and Ginny does an Umbridge impression. I actually thought it was Umbridge and was like OH SHIT. With just a "Hem, hem!" Dale got to me.
B&N has Warriors the collection that includes GRRM's "Mystery Knight" on sale for $5.38 for the hardcover.
"Mystery Knight" is the 3rd Dunk & Egg story and the Dunk and Egg stories are very enjoyable.
