Wouldn't that be great to have a buffista excursion there?
'A Hole in the World'
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Yes!
Have fun storming the castle!
Better than Deadline? I thought it started a bit slow, and then it was AWESOME!!!!
You were totally street marketing for Seanan. I threw Feed at Dan, and was like "Bruce. Fucking. Campbell. In-jokes. And zombies."
Bruce Campbell is totally a freebie on his Free Faithful Fuck List. No questions, no guilt, go ahead, darling, if you get the chance.
"Bruce. Fucking. Campbell. In-jokes. And zombies."
Ha! Whatever works.
ABE books' piece about embroidered book covers mentions that Jillian Tamaki has been commissioned to create embroidered covers for Black Beauty, The Secret Garden and Emma - coming out in October of this year.
I must at least see them and I may need to own them.
ETA: Ah - found them!
Just finished ADwD, somewhat unexpectedly in that I didn't look to see how many pages of appendices there were and was very surprised to find myself suddenly up to the Epilogue!
Re sumi's whitefont: ITA your NOOOOOO! Possibly Bran can do something through the trees, possibly Melisandre can heal him (though I am mistrustful of the Lord of Light's healings and resurrections) {as an aside, I am wondering if the one whose name may not be spoken is the Many Faced God (or one of his faces) and if so what that means}, shoot I had another thought but it seems to have fled. Something to do with Mormont's raven.
I had the sense that Rickon was on Skagos with the unicorns and the cannibals, though how he and Osha could have gotten there I can't imagine. I am desperate to know what he's been up to all this time! And relieved that Davos is alive, I like him a lot. Also had the impression that Brienne mentioned Sansa rather than Arya to Jaime, and that that is all a ruse forced on Brienne by Stoneheart, though that is just a lot of reading between the lines (last we saw Brienne she was being hanged, so I hope there will be eventual explanation!)
And finally, so glad the dragons are free! Even if they are terrorizing people.
-t:
I know - I'm guessing that Bran can use the ravens and the heart trees to communicate with the other Stark kids. I'm hoping that Melisandre can do something to actually bring Jon back: I don't want a zombie!Jon. There are unicorns on Skagos? How did I miss that?? I was hoping we'd get an Osha pov but you know Davos' pov on Rickon should be good. I'm also guessing that Davos will be good for Rickon. (Being an experienced father of boys.) I was sad for Quentin and not sure why we spent so much time on his little red herring story. And I've been wondering where Aurane Waters is. . . how long does it take to get to Meereen from King's Landing?
And I have to say that reading GRRM's descriptions of Jorah Mormont cf the tv Jorah is distracting. They are so different.
And it is very interesting to see Jorah from Tyrion's pov. New rumors: Penny and her brother are the kids of Tyrion and Tysha (despite Penny's story about her father).
I still find myself shocked that I read the whole thing in one night.
I am worried about how or if Jojen and Meera are getting back to their Dad. I had a thought that if he can find a break in the collection of dead things around the cave that Bran should send Summer to look for Ghost. . . and then for Nymeria.
I'm impressed/jealous of all you people who've finished ADWD! I decided too late that I should reread the first 4 to refresh my memory, so I've just (re)started A Clash of Kings.
I started my reread early enough that I finished AFFC with about two weeks to spare. Which I thought was a mistake - but now I'm glad that's how it worked out.
