Maybe they mean "if you would, send me stuff"? And left out the please?
Hmmm. That usage sounds too formal for them. Possibly they mean, that, although I think they mean "If you would send me stuff, that would be great." Because it sounds like a nicer way of saying "Send me stuff now, you slacker."
everything i know about grammar i learned in Latin. No, really. Then during the single week in high school when we diagrammed sentences, i totes aced the diagramming, since only the Latin students knew the difference between an object and a preposition. It was sad.
I love diagramming sentences. It makes English mathy!
Oh! That explains why I hate diagramming sentences. It's all so clear, now.

Happy Bloomsday!
What? Sentence diagraming and Joyce? Peanut butter and jelly.
Finished Feed. Damn.
I don't think I've ever diagrammed a sentence. My grammar skills are crap.
I didn't mind diagramming sentences, but Universal Grammar diagramming makes the baby Jesus cry. Well, it did me.
Diagramming sentences was one of the things I missed in switching tracks between 6th and 7th grade (along with Earth Science and probably a bunch of stuff I don't even know about), but it was being taught when I was in school and I picked up a little bit when later English teachers would throw a little diagramming around.
I don't remember ever diagramming sentences in school.

Yeah, that's interesting.
I have to admit that although I have some issues about JKR's writing, both line-by-line and structurally, she really did create a fascinating world and a compelling epic story that ended pretty much as she'd originally planned--and that she actually finished, which is key. She didn't try to drag it out (like Robert Jordan), or let it get so out of hand that she may well die before finishing it (like Jordan, but also like Martin).
I wouldn't mind seeing her try her hand at something else, but I'm interested to see what new she has planned for the wizarding world.
