Well, you'd better not be thinking what I think you're thinking, because my answer is the same as always — no threesomes unless it's boy-boy-girl. Or Charlize Theron.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hee! Book trailer for Feed and Deadline. That's not how Shaun sounds in my head, but heh.

Also, for those whose interest has been piqued by all the talk, here's a great review that doesn't spoil either book.

move out and draw fire

No, that's not at all how Shaun sounds in my head.

The review says Feed is Mira Grant's debut novel. Is that how it works? Debuts are based on nom de plume?

Because books.

It would be the debut novel under that name, yeah.

Has anyone hear read Discovery of Witches?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I...did.

Kind of.

I was excited about it...but it did NOT grab me at all. I found it pretty damned boring, and I like academically-oriented fiction (a la The Secret History or Possession.)

It was derivative, but worse: boring. I made it halfway though, and stopped, which is a true rarity for me. Especially when I paid for a book.

YMMV, of course.

Hey. New board.

My wife loved it. I, too, got bored after about 30 pages, but I often get bored by supernatural fantasy series these days (my phase of loving them is on hiatus, apparently) so I don't know why.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Has anyone hear read Discovery of Witches?

I read the kindle sample for it and really hated it.

Art Crawl!!!

Two A Song of Ice and Fire questions (based on a thread from Westeros): If Edmure doesn't have a son - wouldn't the Blackfish be his heir? I think it is (currently) Edmure - Blackfish - Bran - Rickon - Lord Robert and then if no male heirs - Lysa, Sansa, Arya? Or possibly it goes off to a cadet branch. . . this has to do with Littlefinger's plans for Sansa - could they involve Riverrun as well as Winterfell? And secondly - could the tapestries that Littlefinger asks of Cersei be important for some reason?

Interesting! I read it last night and really enjoyed it. The book took a while to start (like the Girl With a... Series) but it got better.
