I failed the test, I guessed Sparks as woman. And also I thought the stupid guy who inspired the test was a female writer.
Tonight I discovered that Community College of Vermont offers a class " The Vampire in Literature, Culture & Film". I am going to take that class.
I finished
Game of Thrones
and now I'm desperate to read the next one.
Do it! Plow through them all! Read read read!
I just downloaded the Hugo voters packet and i am strongly tempted to just fuck everything else until I have read all the SciFi.
I wish I could, -t! I mean, I want it RIGHT NOW. And I have no Kindle, and no bookstore is open now. So I'm sadfaced and counting the minutes till I can get to the bookstore tomorrow.
Jon and Arya and Dany are the biggest draws for me.
Oh, I see the dilemma. Lack of instant gratification bites! When I bought the first one, my BiL gave me the next two to be ready, so I wouldn't have to wait. I wish I could shove them through the interwebs to you now.
Wouldn't that be nice?
I didn't expect to like it so much. I generally like fantasy and sci-fi better filmed, and only a few of the books. Martin might not be a really sophisticated stylist, but he tells a damn good story.
Ha. I borrowed the first one from my elibrary. I read it, loved it, and immediately put myself on the waitlist for the remaining ones. I had a pause after book two but I am now plowing through three and four.
It's a ripping yarn. I just love the characters. I am often a plot-driven reader, I will keep reading because I need to find out what happens next, but I find with ASoIaF that what I need to find out is what happens next to these particular people. And wolves.
The two I got right were the two books I'd read although I thought I recognized DFW (I was wrong) and I thought Naipaul was a woman.
