I read one of the Tiffany books (Wintersmith) and really liked it: I need to get the rest.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Oh, Tiffany! The Hogfather is bringing me the latest one (from the UK, because we're picky about cover art here at the House o' Reason), but I've been told that the shipping elves are being slow.
I love the Discworld books, and my favorites keep changing. At the moment it's either Carpe Jugulem or Hat Full of Sky.
The Death books are my favourite, especially Soul Music, but I love the witches ones too.
Soul Music rocks. Susan convincing the wizards that, yes, she is who she says she is, is a lovely scene. And that last concert. Wow.
Oh, can you get books straight from Gutenberg over 3G? You can`t I bet, huh?
Try navigating to this mobile site: [link] on your Nook. It should work.
Only I can`t do web over the 3g, right? The point of me stumping up the extra dosh was so I didn`t have to use my cellular modem bandwidth over wifi to get my books. Only I forgot I wouldn`t be buying most of my books from the BN store. Well, it should arrive today. We`ll see; I`ll play with it. Better go check my tracking status like the obsessive person I am. I mean, it could technically have arrived already, though I know by experience it`ll be more like 7 since I`m so far out here.
There was an article in the paper this week about a group of kids - early teens, I believe - who read and review books for publishers. Seemingly, they take it very seriously and put real effort into their reviews.
And - to show that they DO know what they're doing - one of them read the Hunger Games and went around telling friends how awesome it was.
My mom saw Mockingjay on my desk, and said, "So where did I hear about these books?" I said, "Everywhere, Mom."
This is a sad story. I'd never heard of Barbara Follett.
This is a sad story. I'd never heard of Barbara Follett.
I've never heard of her either, how sad. It looks like her book is out of print and I can't find a copy for less than $190.
Amy, I was totally bragging on you in a twitter chat tonight. Question was being asked about upcoming zombie YA and I was like "OOH OOOH, I know one and it's AWESOME!"
