Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
It would be nice if the Kindle supported Adobe Digital Editions. I suppose that would open up the ability to buy books from other places, but I'd bet that would lose them hardly any business.

Was that lending between Kindles or lending from the library or both?
just finished listening to _Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter_ and was surprised at how much i enjoyed what i picked up on a lark as something fluffy to distract me while commuting. It does very interesting things with certain historical realities (like the lost colony at Roanoke) and spins the whole civil war as an OMG OF COURSE *headsmack* kinda situation.
and Zuisa, if you want a spoiler mockingjay does eventually end with Peeta and Katniss living happily ever after, well, as much as is possible in that world. While the final book is indeed bleak bleak bleak it does end with hope.
Thanks Gud
ita, I think it's just lending between Kindles.
I can't believe that crap with Amazon and Allyson's book. What? The? Fuck?
Granted, I DID get my copy from Amazon, but it was an advance effing proof.
Sadly, it's not unheard of, including for much bigger authors and much bigger publishers. Books are no longer Amazon's core stock in trade, and are not managed with as much care as they should be. It's a glitch, a hiccup, and nothing more than a lot of authors have had to grit their teeth through in the last couple of years.
Reiterating: the Amazon issue will be fixed; and in the meantime, you can use Amazon to order directly from the publisher, or just go to your local indie store, place an order there, and have a copy for your very own in about 10 days.
I also saw Sam for sale on Borders website.
