Right, what's a little sweater sniffing between sworn enemies?

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

P-C, have you read Breathers yet? I'm looking for someone to giggle with over how Utterly Wrong and so so SO funny it is.

Am currently reading Boneshaker, which intrigues me. I'm not too far into it yet; Zeke just left. I'm alternating that with Liz Marcs' BTVS fanfic, which I don't know how I hadn't found yet. (Wow, that was ungrammatical!)

And also waiting impatiently for Skulduggery Pleasant to wend its way here from the UK.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

No, but it's on The List! As is Boneshaker, especially after the Hugo nomination.

Ha, maybe I will read Breathers after Feed. That should be fun. Oh, I should do it while I'm reading the Deadline draft, just to confuse everything horribly.

Maybe they'll have a used copy at Borderlands. That's how I picked up Soulless. Or I could just borrow it from Seanan.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

is Changeless really different from Soulless

No, though both are different from the usual paranormal fiction available now.

I imagine that's why they're so popular.

Yes, and they're funny, and charming, and I think they're grabbing the horror, steampunk, paranormal romance, and historical romance audience.

DINGDINGDING! That's why they grabbed my interest.

Teppy, I liked Breathers, but was not swept away with it. And I adored Boneshaker.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hee -I'm so glad Soulless turned out to be such a Buffista hit. When my MiL brought it back from the book expo for me my immediate reaction was "Hey, look at Jilli on the cover!"

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh! This is totally off topic, but where I've seen Jilli (present and referenced) recently. My dad was saying yesterday that he has a bunch of baby goths on his bus route - he drives a small bus for an alternative high school - and they're his favorites. Not that he knew the term. "You know, all in black, and they grunt when you ask them a question". I'm going to make him read your book (and maybe carry it on the bus).

The really funny part is the cover model is a friend of mine. Every time I see the covers, I'm all OH HAI DONNA. NICE PARSOL, GIMME.

Awwww. Brenda, you should! And of course the babybats are his favorites! They're generally well-behaving kidlings.
