Like any of that's enough to fight the Dark Master. Bator.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Didn't Gris have his stolen?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The main difference I can think of is that an e-reader probably isn't small enough to be carried in an outside jacket pocket the way a cell phone is, so they're not as immediately available to pickpockets. But they're definitely small enough to walk away with if someone nabbed one out of an open purse or briefcase.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

how likely is it that someone would want to steal an ebook reader?

I had a $5 paperback stolen out of my hospital room while I was in surgery. People will steal anything.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Here's a nice change from the usual year end and decade literary lists.

The Guardian polled publishing insiders for the book they thought was fantastic that never found its readership. I've never heard of any of these books, but several sound very intriguing. Here's their annotated list.

I think Black Juice by Margo Lanagan would have particular appeal for Buffistas.

Hey. New board.

Didn't Gris have his stolen?

I did. Well, I left it in a Barnes and Noble and it was never recovered, anyway.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I don't know how you write that book without being extremely meticulous, you know? It wouldn't work if it were done in broader strokes.

The movie, however, had no choice but to go broader (or at least more circumspect), but I thought it worked. But it worked as a movie.

Plus the "Hip to be Square" scene still makes me laugh like a goon when I watch it.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

turns out the house of night book (first one at least) is the absolute perfect thing to read while biding my time until i can take another pain pill and attempt to sleep. For this i am glad to have borrowed it from the library. The new Stephen King that i was working on before breaking my foot is NOT something i want to read in the middle of the night while my foot aches in agony.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I read the House of Night books when I was in the hospital on WHOA a lot of morphine.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

P-C, have you read A Gate at the Stairs yet? I just finished it. What did you think?
