Do you know what else has blood in it? Blood.

Spike ,'Sleeper'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kara continues to slay me with her child's insight and sweetness.

How about Owen?

Owen has been VERY good. ::knocks wood:: He's back to a bedtime routine and goes down awake with a few (or ten) recitations of Good Night, Moon and has been staying asleep until morning. I should quit complaining about the hiccups in his schedule because he always seems to get right back on track.

We've had our grilled cheese for lunch and are now off to the park. Where I'm hoping Owen will tire himself out for a nap.

move out and draw fire

Sigh...just spent my usual Tuesday night, when I chase Mal around with a rag because the nanny's used a tamping rod to get food down him because "He's too thin!"

Then I had to sing TMBG's Alphabet of Nations about 47 times for him. "Algeria Bulgaria Cambodia Domenica Egypt France the Gambia..."

Good rant, MG. I was on the receiving end of the DH's work rant at lunch. The short version is that he can't get his work done, his boss keeps double-booking himself into meetings and then making DH take one, which puts the work off yet again, and he gets so many emails that every 4 hours he has to delete 50-60 in order to have enough server space so that he can SEND e-mail.

I suggested he block out 2 hours with no boss, no email, no interruption. He said, "I shut my door for 3 hours yesterday and you know what happened? The secretary went shopping all day and the intern went home."

I'm just happy because I was supposed to brief a congressman on Thursday, but now I'm off the hook. The congressman, who I won't name but is a Representative from Florida, has made it very very clear that he and he 70-person entourage are disinclined to work on this trip.

Whatever. As long as I don't have to take the wives shopping. That never goes well.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Happy birthday, birthday people!

Wally report! I have uploaded two photos of the Wallybee an' me, from our trip to the Dandenongs last weekend. Link here: [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Too cute!

But what were you doing to make her so surprised in this one?

I think that was sitting down before the timer went off. She apparently has little faith in my turn of speed.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

She apparently has little faith in my turn of speed.

So she's observant as well?

Well, that's my impression. Hey, she calls me Penguin. Not a critter known for its land speed records. Though she assures me she will fully support me should I start scooching around on my belly. Indeed, I think she's encouraging it.
