I just had the sweetest phone conversation with Kara. She asked if I had a mother and father. I said yes. Then she wanted to talk to them. I told her they didn't live here. Then she asked to talk to my grandparents, and I explained that they live in Chicago. She got very sad and said, "So you're all alone?"
