Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

The company makes theatrical lighting supplies, Epic. Between a huge portion of our customers being high schools and colleges that do theater renovations during the summer and the fact that many businesses use a July-June budget year, our peak business is done to take advantage of school closings and end of fiscal year budget windfalls. Also, many of the casinos and resorts tend to open late spring/early summer to lure in jaded tourists, so we have lots of system turn ons in Vegas and theme parks at this time of year, too. Busy, busy, busy.

Oh, yeah! I enjoy being part of the entertainment industry from the side-lines. I always get a kick out of seeing news stories about the venues our stuff goes into, even if the company is not mentioned.

In fact, we just got an e-mail at work from our PR person that says:

...on display during an extremely popular ABC design show to be aired this Friday, April 14th, 2006, at 7 p.m., Central Standard Time...

I don't know if I'll remember to watch it, but it'll give you an idea of the kind of stuff we make here.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

(((GC)))

Just don't have any nights off anymore due to Bus. Class, Gaelic Class, Charleston Class, Irish Dance Class, etc.

Methinks Epic needs to teach some dance classes at the F2F...

Sparky, that is really cool about...well, everything...but esp. the part about the kids being taught to give some to charity.

I'm feeling a little weird this morning, which is no surprise after the gig excitement, TOO MUCH SUGAR, and being up late. The gig ended around 10 but I just stayed up late. I baked chocolate cake from scratch for refreshments but didn't have a cake carrier and didn't want to hassle with the extra weight of the Pyrex dishes it was baked in so I actually cut it into pieces and put it in a Tupperware container and had the icing available on the side. I think that was unusual enough that it didn't look all that appetizing to folks. So there's tons of leftover chocolate cake and then the promoter tossed in all these robin's eggs. OMG, I love malted milk. I'm such a sugar addict. Really. I binge. So I'm trying to figure out who to give this stuff to because I'd hate to throw it out and I know I will eat every bit of it in way too short a time if I have it here.

Well, I hate to break it to those watching from the sides, but I finally showered and dressed. Time to do some chores around town and maybe sit outside somewhere and enjoy the record breaking 80 degrees out there. Whoohoo, I feel like spring has sprung at last!
