Hey, he has a long and colorful history in my fair city. For real. He was on City Council back in the day ("the day" being the 1970s) and got busted for patronizing a hooker. HOW did he get busted, you ask? He paid with a check. No, seriously. You can look it up. So he resigned. And then, a few years later, was re-elected. As mayor. Seriously

Well MY former mayor got busted with a hooker AND COKE, and got reelected! He's still serving on the city council!! t /mayor smackdown

I had a boyfriend who was verbally abusive. Actually abusive. And it wasn't the obvious thing to walk away

Yeah, I can see how it would be a hell of a lot more...confusing? for it to not be physical. Like, I can easily say "You hit me, I'm the fuck OUTTA there". But verbal/emotional abuse can be a lot harder to grok.

If you think you did badly, I think you have an option to not have it scored, at the end, though I don't know that I would take that option.

I was worried, when I did mine, and almost considered it, but I did FINE. You, too, will do fine!

I just culled my shoe wardrobe to 15 pairs total.

! I can't even imagine. I mean...damn. I have several pairs that I don't wear very often, I admit, but they go with specific outfits or occasions (like my interview suit)

While packing books, stop to read bits from ones you haven't looked at in a while. Suddenly realize you've spent an entire evening not packing like you said you were going to

This is ALWAYS a step in my moving plan

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I think this is exactly how my brain worked at the time. He didn't hit me so it was a way tougher call for me to make at the time. It took a while to grok and then it was really, really clear.

Shockingly? I have a couple of those pairs as well. I just ... don't get the shoe thing. I am damaged goods.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

All right, damn it to hell, I can't figure out if this is just my creaky and increasingly wonky body, or if it's a side effect of the Cipro, but my back has been aching unbearably for about 5 hours. Not my lower back, but the area between where the waistband of pants (not low-rise) sit and the bottom of my boobs.

The thing with drug side effects is that someone, *somewhere*, at some point in time, has experienced every damn thing you can think of as a side effect of Drug X. And so "back pain" is listed as a reported side effect of Cipro. But I don't know if that's what this is, or not.

And I'm whining about it to my invisible friends because it won't go away -- I can't get comfortable, and it's not a back pain I'm familiar with (it's too high up), and I want to go to sleep but my back hurts too much to sleep.

This is when I'm seriously considering pulling out the percocet I have squirrelled away from my surgery. Bah.

Man, I hate the not knowing. I mean, you hurt no matter but it's just the need to know why and then know if there is jack shit you can do about it...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Did you maybe pull a muscle?

Erin, I was actually thinking that, only in reverse order -- a hot shower, and then if my back still aches, hit the drugs. Maybe just ibuprofen.

It could be a pulled muscle. I don't know what I would have done to pull it, but sometimes all a person has to do is sneeze to pull a muscle. Though I don't remember sneezing...

I have strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, and have sprinkled sugar on them....and baked an angel food cake. Except I don't actually have a big bundt pan. Only mini ones. I made 7 little cakes, and then gave up and threw out the rest of the batter.
