[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

libkitty, I realized some other online acquaintances of mine must live in the same city you do when them mentioned a church burning. They had some pictures of it. For some reason, when people mention living in AK, I always think of them living at least as far north as Anchorage...

I never really used to think of Juneau as Alaska when I lived farther north either, Spidra. Kind of funny considering I lived in Sitka for a while as a kid, which is farther south.

There are a lot of pictures of the fire online. Some really good photographers were there when it was fully engulfed, although I don't know whether or not I'm really glad for those pictures. In a way it gives closure, but in a way it's harder. I imagine I'll be glad for the pictures in the future.

I'm just glad that the congregation really seems able to move forward and the community (local and beyond) is being so supportive. This really is a learning and growing experience, although not a path towards enlightenment that I would recommend!

Does your friend attend church there?

Mostly lurking...

GO, NORA!

Um...there was other stuff, but the nap ate my brain.

Oooh. A nap. That sounds better than doing taxes to me.

I don't know, libkitty. We're just acquainted. I haven't gotten the opportunity to know Soosh and Shade well. I just now noticed his description said "arson". Did it turn out to be arson after all?

I imagine I'll be glad for the pictures in the future.

I think this is true.

Always Anti-fascist!

Robin, I bet House is a great kisser. Glad to know that I'm not the one thinking of it, either. Bitches, I can hear out of both my ears. Yay.

I don't usually remember my dreams but reading something online about Mandarin made me remember that in one of my dreams last night I was trying to say something in Chinese and a native speaker was laughing at me. So I asked her to say the same utterance with all 4 different tones so I could tell the difference between the meanings. I guess I must have been influenced by viewing that Firefly gag reel.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I had a dream the other night that I had disappeared for 8 years. Just up and went missing and then showed back up at my apartment (that was in a hotel that also had a "Brothers of Notre Dame" cathedral in it) like I was just coming home from work - in my dream, I had no idea I had been missing.

Our wings are not tired.

Go Nora and the mad paper writing skillz!

Yay for hearing out of both ears?

I'm sad now. I had to cancel my trip. Too many things conspired against me. First my MIL bailing on me, then the face ouchy (getting worse not better), then the event particulars changed requiring Brendon to only be there Tuesday. So I called Delta and now have a credit for a future trip. Changed his reservations, etc. That was a couple hours of annoyance.

I was looking forward to seeing St. Louis with my sweety and Anne. Just wasn't meant to be this time. Poop.

It looks like it. They've arrested someone. Apparently the guy was kicked out of a party . He was drunk and mad for getting kicked out, so he started the fire. At least that's basically what the newspaper article said. I think the actions of some others post fire are suspicious and, not surprisingly, rumors abound. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more to it, but that's all I know. I'm just so thankful that no one was actually trying to burn the church down, that there was no malice towards us.
