I am a bad friend. I just called a friend in CA who I haven't spoken to in a while. She has breast cancer, and I had no idea. It sounds like she is doing well on treatment, but I will take any ~ma that you can spare for her.

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy Birthday, Stephanie!!
I talked to the pediatrician today. He fell over himself apologizing for the mix up. He really didn't think his office would be that quick about scheduling and contacting me and he though he'd have time to be the first to call me. That being said, he also said the reason he wants to do the test on Olivia is because there could be a constriction of her airway. Granted, if there is, it's probably not severe but he wants to rule it out as a possibility.
So I'm down with that. She'll get her barium in a bottle, not a tube, though. He said I will be there the whole time, but I'm still pretty terrified that they'll have to restrain her. It will suck but it will most likely stress me out more than her.
I'm just hoping we can rule out anything that needs medical intervention and just wait for her to outgrow this thing and leave it at that.
Oh, sj. Geeez.
Mom just called. Lab work is done and now she is getting a pedicure. Gah. Stubborn ole woman.
Meanwhile, my right shoulder is so tight, I have to stop work every 15 minutes to get it to loosen up some. This is pitiful.
nope , not my birthday until the 18th ( a snow day) - but Raq said her birthday was the same day
~ma to your CA friend, sj.
Calm ~ma to you for the procedure, Cashmere. And a healthy dose of it's-nothing ~ma to Olivia. I'm so glad it was all just a mix-up and the doc didn't need a Talking To. Just one of those People Are Actually Too Efficient things. It's rare but it happens every now and again.
Can you go for a walk and swing your arms around a bit, Suzi? Maybe we should book a couple of massages for when I'm in town...
Guh, Betsy. That dress is beautiful.
Happy Birthday, Stephanie!!
Much health-ma to your friend, sj.
May the procedure go smoothly and with minimal discomfort to Olivia, Cash.
I am looking forward to a visit to DC (well, MD, actually) this coming weekend to stay with my BFF and see some other friends, too. One of whom is having a b-day tomorrow, so we'll get to fete her pretty closely to the actual day, which is always fun. (This random thought brought to you by the wishing of HBD above.)
Oh, ok. I saw the birthday twin thing after seeing some HB posts for Stephanie and leapt to conclusions.
I hope your shoulder chills out, SuziQ. Stress and muscles can be unhappy combos. Any chance you could get a massage or suchlike soon?
Cash, I'm glad the doctor was so good to you and I'm glad to here there's no tube required. I think you are probably right that it will be more scary for you than her, but that doesn't make the whole thing any less upsetting. I had to drink the barium once, but obviously, I was an adult. FWIW, it was not fun, but it wasn't painful or anything like that.
Also, I totally love the outfit Olivia's wearing in her pictures!
{{{Suzi}}} I'm glad your mother got there safely. Anti-stress~ma to you.
{{{Cash}}} Much calm~ma to you for the procedure.
