Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
2) I currently spend several hours each day customizing e-mails to every different group that wants updates. It would be so much easier if I just had to update in one place...and then could just copy that into my LJ.
vw, this is what makes me think it is a good idea. People care about you and want to know how you are doing. You want to share with us how things are going, but why focus so much time on it when you could be doing something fun like napping or quilting. It sure sounds to me like it will make your life a little bit easier, maybe a bit more enjoyable - so it sounds good to me.
So, my gut says it's weird. But, my brain says that it might make sense.
To clarify, my 'thinking how is useful it is' was meant to convey that I do think it is useful; I wasn't wondering whether it would be.
I say you ought to do what you want to do. People can know what you choose to tell them, how much you choose to tell them, when you choose to tell them, and how. If you're mainly doing it because someone asked, then don't do it. If it feels like more of a plus to you, then do it.
Stupid drama.
It looks like the woman who started our knitting and crocheting group is trying to break it up. She decided a few months ago that she should no longer be the leader, and the woman who hosts the group took over. Only, she never really gave up leadership...and not in the good way. Now this morning she sends out an e-mail saying that she has "prayerfully considered things," and she thinks we should start only meeting once a month or maybe just stop meeting all together.
This makes me very sad. And kind of angry.
vw, I think this is the perfect opportunity for a spot of deliberately not getting her point. E.g., an insanely cheerful "I'm so sorry you won't be able to make it to weekly meetings -- I'm sure we'll miss yoU!"
Ooooo...that's a good idea, and would have probably been effective if I'd been the first of the group to respond. Unfortunately, I wasn't, and others have agreed with her. So, I guess I'm in the minority here.
vw, I forgot to say the CarePage idea migh tbe a good thing, in that it will save you time. Totally your call, but anything that frees up some time sounds good to me.
Also, the quilting not!leader sounds a bit full of herself, doesn't she? I like amych's idea.
One would think they'd offer more severance simply because it doesn't seem like they have a leg to stand on.
California's an "at-will" state. So they don't really have to justify anything, just dodge lawsuits. But thanks for all the calm-ma and support, everybody.
I can't really imagine what Weasel Boss is going to say when the time comes. "Yes, I shamefully lied to your face when you came to me in distress in an honest attempt to resolve a tense situation. Not only that, I assured you I wasn't lying while I was lying. You're fired."
On the other hand, my direct deposit hit so I've got April's rent covered.
Aw, Hecubus.
One time I curse my keen detective instincts.

How about a reply that says something like, "Am I the only person who would like to continue to meet weekly? Maybe we could structure this so we have a big group meeting once a month, and then those who would like to continue meeting weekly could do so."
Hec, your spy is very impressive with the info.
vw, I don't think you should assume your in the minority before you give people a chance to agree with you, as Cindy suggests.
My interview last night with the NZ folks went pretty well, I think. I'm totally terrified that they'll offer me the job and I'll have a very difficult decision to make. I did not sleep very well last night. My DH? He slept like a log. The thought of what a 6000+ mile move might be like isn't enought to keep him awake at night.
eta: Happy Birthday, libkitty!
