I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services!

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have a Leif story (what else is new), but maybe it should wait for another time.

No way, man! Bring on the viking boy!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Tell the story, Gud.

It may serve to cheer us all up.

I'm down in the dismals at the moment, a result of caculating how much of the time since I got my B.A. was spent as an actual employee of wherever I was working in a full-time position.

The total was 4.5 months.

Three of those were post-layoff.

I'm nearly 32. How the hell, given that I know I'm a good worker who makes herself valuable as all heck, am I still a temp?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Sounds like a pain in the ass to me, Andi. Your sheets are already clean.

LEIF STORY NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Man, our dog knocked over a jug of water and my wife got all over me for being too slow to get a towel becuase I took literally about 3 seconds to put down the glass of tea I was holding. I hate that crap.

That kind of overreacting? She's venting a lot. On you. It sucks and is terribly unfair.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ok, I have decided to wash it on "Knits" for 3 minutes, and will put it in the dryer on the fluff cycle.

Sorry, all the junk going on distracted me.

Anyway, while I was at work the kids were playing out in the backyard. My wife came inside for about five minutes. Now you'd think this is no problem because we have a six foot high wooden fence around the yard with a locked gate. However, when she went back outside Leif was nowhere to be seen. My wife and Emaryn looked all over for him, but couldn't find him in the backyard. So they took off in the minivan and found him about 3 houses down the block. The first thing he said when they found him is "I'm having an adventure!".

Pretty scary (not as much for me since I didn't know abou t it while he was missing), but the "I'm having an adventure!" still cracked me up.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I'm just not the person that LA Boss wants in this job in this office. I think.

Hec, what is the outside chance that they are going to promote you, or transfer you to another job, and the boss can't tip that hand, either?

Even a 5% chance of something else is still something to hope for.

OTOH? I've felt the winds of change on more than one occasion, and should have started the job search much earlier than I did, so I can't be a good barometer.

I'd like to think I could hold my head up high and keep working with dignity and negotiate my dismissal (Without trumped up reasons, for god sake) package with more dignity and grace then the asshats.

I can dream....

Part of me wants to cheer for Leif escaping the usual bounds, and yet remaining safe and confident in his Adventure. Other part? Very glad he's safe.

Little dude has no fear whatsoever. Except for clowns.
